TAMPA, Fla. – Suncoast Schools FCU yesterday said its check card rewards program, which sets aside funds every time a member makes a credit card transaction, raised $1.2 million for local schools.

Each time a member uses the card for a signature-based credit transaction, five cents is donated to the Suncoast for Kids Foundation, the credit union’s non-profit. All funds are earmarked for local school initiatives in the 15 counties served by the $6 billion credit union.
The Foundation has provided more than $4 million in educational funding since its creation in 1998.
