Suspect Doesnt Get Far After CU Hold-Up At Submarine Base

GROTON, Conn. -- A suspect was quickly arrested after robbing a Naval FCU branch at the Naval Submarine Base in New London Friday afternoon just after 1 pm.

Police tracked the suspect from the robbery on Sailfish Drive and requested base assistance in the apprehension. Military SUBASE police and Groton police jointly arrested the suspect in the outbound lane of the base's main gate without incident at 1:30 p.m.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of money. It is not clear if the cash was recovered.
