LOWELL, Mass. - (10/20/05) -- A 31-year-old drug addict wasarrested Tuesday and charged with threatening tellers with ahypodermic needle in an attempt to rob Northern MassachusettsTelephone Workers' CU last Friday. Police recovered a hypodermicneedle and about $2,000 believed stolen from a Bank of Americabranch by the suspect, identified as Richard Olender. Police saidOlender is a heroin addict who was apparently seeking money fordrugs.
