Suspects in Redwood CU Robbery Arrested After Staff's Quick Thinking

POINT ARENA, Calif. — Quick thinking by credit union employees and eyewitnesses helped lead to the arrest of two men who allegedly held up a branch of Redwood Credit Union here.

After employees alerted police that the two men, one of whom had a gun, had ordered that all cash drawers be emptied and had fled the scene, witnesses recorded the license plate on the Jeep utility vehicle allegedly used in the robbery and provided it to police.

Sherrif's deputies and California Highway Patrol found the vehicle, stopped it and arrested the two suspects. Police said the money and the handgun allegedly used in the robbery were found in the vehicle.
