FARMINGVILLE, N.Y. – Teachers FCU was approved by NCUA to serve virtually all 3 million residents of Long Island, the third credit union to obtain such a charter.

Previously, the $3.5 billion credit union served people who worked for or attended Suffolk County schools, plus those who worked at many Suffolk County hospitals.
The new charter will allow Teachers to serve all residents of Nassau and Suffolk counties, except the townships of Southampton, East Hampton and Shelter Island.
