USERS, Akcelerant In Agreement

VALLEY FORGE, Penn.-USERS Inc., a unit of Fiserv, Inc., has signed an agreement with Akcelerant Software LLC to integrate its CollectAnywhere solution with USERS, DataSafe core processing system. CollectAnywhere is a browser-based collections management solution that USERS said makes it easy to manage the entire collections process, including accounts handled by third-party agencies or attorneys. "Developed in concert with a large credit union- and now used by numerous credit unions, banks and mortgage companies- the system helps financial institutions respond effectively to collections issues," the company said. CheckFree Signs With Intuit Inc.

ATLANTA-CheckFree has signed a multi-year extension to its contract with Intuit Inc. in which CheckFree will provide electronic billing and payment services to Intuit's Quicken software and QuickBooks software customers. The extension applies to both Windows and Mac versions of Intuit's products.

Fiserv Partners With Mortgagebot

LAKE MARY, Fla.-Fiserv Lending Solutions said it has formed a strategic business partnership with Mortgagebot, a provider of Internet-based lending solutions, to provide Fiserv loan-origination system clients with seamless data integration between Mortgagebot PowerSite and Fiserv's EasyLENDER and UniFi PRO loan origination and processing software systems. "As a result of the agreement, lenders can grow their businesses by implementing a high- performance, consumer-direct Internet lending channel with the flexibility to meet their unique product needs," the company said. Users of the two Fiserv systems will be able to transfer application, product, and pricing data from Mortgagebot PowerSite.

VISA Signs 200 For POS Service

SAN FRANCISCO-Visa said it has now signed up 200 merchants in 33 states along with 17 banks for its Visa POS Check Service, which is used at POS to confirm a customer's deposit account has sufficient funds to cover the check. The credit card association said it expects to have online access to 25% of all demand deposit accounts in the U.S. during the next 12 months, and to add another 25% in each of the following three years. The growth in the category has attracted several competitors, including Safecheck, a POS check-to-debit service owned by 11 banks and three EFT networks.
