WASHINGTON, D.C.-The National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA) said it has introduced Co-opBuy.com, a business-to-business Internet site where credit unions can buy goods and services from suppliers.
CU groups will receive income in the form of rebates paid for every purchase made by a member. Members may also place free classified ads.
Fiserv's First Quarter Gets Boost
BROOKFIELD, Wis.-Fiserv said its growing Internet services business helped push net income 29.% higher in the first quarter ended March 31 to $43.2 million.
First quarter net was boosted by a 17.6% rise in revenues to $396.4 million. As a result, net income per diluted share climbed 31% to 34 cents for the quarter.
The first quarter performance was fueled by increases in the company's securities business and Internet-enabled product offerings, the company said.
Fiserv said it now has more than 1,400 clients using Internet- related technology offerings.
Concentrex Sees Conversions
PORTLAND, Ore.-Concentrex announced that the number of banks that have converted to its Windows-based Laser Pro Lending suite has doubled since the beginning of the year. More than 900 of Concentrex's 3,000 Laser Pro Lending customers process loans using the software package, up from 450 banks in full operation at the end of 1999, with some 200,000 loans processed using the product line so far this year.
"Changing your lending system from DOS to Windows is a tremendous commitment for banks to make," said Matt Chapman, CEO. "Loans are your lifeblood and that means dependable, efficient solutions that provide you with the flexibility you want and the compliance you need." Another 2,100 insitutions plan to convert to the Windows-based suite this year, Concentrex said.
FundsXpress Unveils Portal
AUSTIN, Texas-FundsXpress became the latest company to offer financial institutions an Internet portal through a partnership with FISI-Madison Financial. The portal, to be called Portana, will allow credit unions and banks to offer their customers customized product information, news feed, search engines, as well as financial information and product purchasing capabilities.
