Fiserv EFT Unit Sets Record

BROOKFIELD, Wis.-Fiserv, Inc. said its Fiserv EFT unit and ACCEL/Exchange Network processed record-setting electronic funds transfer (EFT) transaction volume for 2004, including best-ever monthly volume in December. For the full year, Fiserv EFT reported total volume of 4.2-billion transactions, a 14% increase over 2003 volume.

For December 2004, volume was a single-month-record 385 million transactions, an increase of 12% from December 2003. ACCEL/Exchange, the nation's fifth-largest EFT network, also reported record volume for the year and for December. Transactions for 2004 totaled 281 million, a 26% increase over 2003. ATM transactions were up 33% for the year to more than 41 million, while POS transaction activity increased by 25% to 240 million. For December, transaction volumes increased 29% from December 2003 to more than 28 million.

ACCEL/Exchange transactions are currently enabled at 73,000 ATMs and approximately 2.4 million POS devices nationwide.

GLASTONBURY, Conn.-AllSouth Federal Credit Union has selected Open Solutions Inc.'s The Complete Credit Union Solution (TCCUS), a relational core data processing platform for credit unions, to address its enterprise-wide data processing needs. The $352-million CU serves 89,000 members. "We wanted a modern, flexible technology platform that would put us on the same operational level as our competitors," said AllSouth President and CEO William (Bill) Koehler. AllSouth also selected Open Solutions' Asset/Liability Management and Financial Planning products, as well as the Accounts Payable and General Ledger suite, Interactive Voice Response, Consumer and Mortgage lending, Investor Reporting and the Report Wizard and Dynamic Messaging (CRM/business intelligence) applications.

Passageways Has Record Year

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.-Passageways LLC, a provider of corporate portal/Intranet solutions to credit unions, said 2004 was a record-setting year in revenue growth, client signing, staff hiring, and product development. Passageways installed its corporate portal solution at 18 new credit unions and welcomed another 31 by acquiring Extreme Arts and Sciences' Intranet division. Passageways now serves over 50 credit unions nationwide. A revenue growth of 80% allowed Passageways to add five people to its development, customer support and sales staff, the company said.

Credit Reports In Spanish

SPOKANE, Wash.-SharperLending, LLC, a provider of a secure web-based platform that enables lenders to order, store and manage products and services from multiple vendors at a single point of entry, said it has a new product offering from SharperLending Credit Division. Lenders can now receive credit reports in Spanish, as well as leverage additional CreditXpert functionality. Summit, eFunds To Partner

CORVALLIS, Ore.-Summit Information Systems, a unit of Fiserv, Inc., said it will integrate business analytics capabilities from eFunds Corp. into the new member account opening process functionality of its Branch Suite front-office application planned for release later this year. The ChexSytems solution suite from eFunds that will be integrated into Summit Branch Suite includes ID Verification, Fraud Finder and QualiFile, all of which will serve to "provide Summit clients with tools to help them make timelier and more informed decisions about the risks and opportunities associated with a new member," according to Summit Branch Suite Product Manager Don White.

Separately, Summit has formed a strategic business alliance with John M. Floyd & Associates (JMFA), Houston, provider of the JMFA Overdraft Privilege program. The alliance enables credit unions to implement an automated non-sufficient funds (NSF) program that is profitable for the credit union and appreciated by its members, the companies said.

AltaOne Selects USERS

VALLEY FORGE, Penn.-USERS, Inc. said that the $436-million AltaOne FCU in Ridgecrest, Calif. has implemented its new Commercial Integrator solution. Commercial Integrator gives clients of USERS' DataSafe system access to the full range of deposit and lending functions required to serve business accounts, the company said.

"Commercial Integrator marries USERS' core system with Fiserv ITI's Premier, the nation's most widely used commercial processing solution," USERS said. "This seamless integration gives credit union staff access to the range of features required for commercial processing, including advanced Internet cash management, account analysis, and support for complex loans."
