MADISON, Wis. – A 19-year-old man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly robbed a Dane County CU branch and was found by a Madison police sergeant behind the building.
The sergeant responded to the credit union shortly after it was robbed Monday around 11 a.m., and ran into the suspect behind the credit union, according to police.
Police said the sergeant was able to get Ernest Bailey to drop a handgun, which had been tucked into his pants. Bailey is well known to local authorities and has a lengthy arrest record, according to police.
The money stolen from the credit union was recovered.
