ELKHART, Ind. – Teacher’s CU was warning about an automated phone call purporting to be from the credit union asking for credit card and account numbers. The pharming effort, then notified the members their account had been overdrawn and asked them to call one of two numbers, where they were asked for additional information about their accounts. Police said more than 200 credit union members notified them of the scam. Credit union officials were warning members not to give out any personal information over the phone.
