Teller Drained $48,000 From Members’ Money Market Account

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – A former teller at 3Rivers FCU was charged Friday with stealing almost $48,000 from the money market accounts of two members.

Britain Flowers, 25, allegedly told supervisors he stole the money because he was in financial trouble.

Authorities were provided with 13 computer screen shots of each unauthorized transaction on Nov. 13, 2010, that showed Flowers logged into the system and the account number, member’s name and amount withdrawn. Another set of screen shots was provided to police that showed two more unauthorized withdrawals from another member’s account, totaling $7,000, according to the affidavit.
