Teller Gets Deferred Sentence For $12,000 Theft

KALISPELL, Mont. -- A former Whitefish CU teller was sentenced last week for embezzling $12,000 from member customers’ accounts to a five year deferred sentence.

Penny Rhine will be under the supervision of a probation office, but she can apply to get off early two and a half years into the sentence.

Rhine pled guilty in April to felony theft. The embezzlement occurred between 2008 and 2009.
