The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council has appointed Tennessee's state banking commissioner to its state liaison committee.
Greg Gonzales joined the committee on Feb. 26, the FFIEC said in a Wednesday news release. He filled a seat vacated by the resignation of Lauren Kingry. Gonzales' term runs through March 2017.
Gonzales has been the commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions since 2005. He's the chief regulator for Tennessee's state-chartered credit unions and other depository institutions. Gonzales is also a past chairman of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors.
