NCR said net income for the quarter was $33 million, or 18 cents a share, compared with $89 million, or 49 cents a share, for the same period in 2006.
NCR put the third quarter costs of the Teradata spin off at $33 million. Despite the spin off, NCR reported a 12% rise in third quarter revenues, to $1.28 billion.
On Tuesday, Teradata reported a 73% decline in earnings, most of it related to the spin off. Following the spin off, NCR is focusing on its once-core business of ATMs and self-service payment machines for the retail market.
