MANSFIELD, Texas Texas Trust CU contributed $225,000 to school districts in Grand Prairie, Mansfield, Cedar Hill and DeSoto with revenue earned on its Spirit Debit Reward card.
Since the inception of the program in August 2011, Texas Trust has donated almost $340,000 as a result of a pledge of 15 cents every time its Spirit Debit Reward card is used to make a purchase.
Each school has a unique, custom-designed Texas Trust card that is available for members to use as an easy way to financially support the school of their choice, the credit union said. Schools receive a check each month based on the previous month’s card usage, which they can spend as they deem appropriate.
Texas Trust Spirit Debit cardholders have made more than 2 million purchases with the cards to date.
