ENCINITAS, Calif. – Police are searching for thieves who pulled a San Diego County CU ATM out of its kiosk and dragged it across the parking lot before breaking into it and making off with the cash.

Deputies said the robbery occurred around 5:30 am Monday, when someone hooked a chain to the cash machine and yanked it out of the kiosk.
The machine was dragged 40 feet and damaged a car that was being used for a credit union car loan promotion, deputies said.
An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.
