BROOKFIELD, Wis. — Thirteen credit unions have implemented Fiserv Inc.'s Portico core account-processing platform with integrated solutions so far this year.
Portico is built on a "service-oriented, open architecture framework" that allows CUs to integrate additional solutions from Fiserv and other vendors with "greater ease and speed," according to the company. This is particularly important for the many institutions that lack the in-house resources to complete extensive integration work.
For example, in February 2015 My Healthcare Federal Credit Union, a $25 million institution based in Gainesville, Fla., implemented Portico with integrated solutions to drive an enhanced member experience through digital and mobile channels, Fiserv noted.
In tandem with the move to Portico, My Healthcare FCU also added CheckFree RXP for online banking, Mobiliti for mobile banking, FraudNet for real-time payments fraud monitoring and eFichency for enterprise content management.

Earlier this fall, Northwest Community Credit Union, a $60 million institution in Morton Grove, Ill., started using Portico with integrated solutions, allowing the CU to join the national shared branching network and attract new members through enhanced services. Northwest Community is using digital and mobile channels to appeal to millennials, and to ensure that the local underserved population has access to innovative and expedient financial services.
