WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Three men arrested last week in an armored car hold-up of more than $160,000, were charged with two similar heists, including last year’s robbery of $120,000 from a cash carrier replenishing ATMs at a Navy FCU branch.
The Navy FCU heist occurred on Feb. 1, 2008 when a Loomis Fargo employee carrying boxes filled with cash to the ATMs was accosted at gunpoint by two assailants wearing Halloween masks. The assailants escaped with three boxes each carrying $40,000.
Another Loomis employee was robbed outside of a Bank of America branch of $160,000 on April 1. Police said they arrested three men for that robbery and recovered all of the money, as well as weapons.
The three suspects, believed to also be responsible for the Navy Fed heist, were identified as: Christopher Blakeney, 21, Michael Blakeney, 20, and Carlic Brown, 25.
