Three More CUs Join Treasury’s HAMP Refi Program

WASHINGTON – The Treasury Department said last week it has approved fine new lenders, including three new credit unions, as servicers for its Home Affordable Modification Program, or HAMP.

The program will pay mortgage-servicing firms to modify mortgages and find other ways to keep people in their homes.

 

The newly approved credit unions are: Schools Financial CU, Sacramento; Glass City Financial CU, Maumee, Ohio and Central Jersey FCU, Woodbridge, N.J.

More than 40 lenders have been approved for the program, including Central Florida Educators FCU, Wescom Central CU, Oakland Municipal CU, Purdue University Employees FCU, Mission FCU, Technology CU and IBM Southeast Employees FCU.
