MODESTO, Calif. – A state jury this week found three local men guilty of the August 2005 armed robbery at Valley First CU in nearby Turlock when the assailants made off with $85,000.
Two of the suspects entered the credit union with masks on their faces and toting semi-automatic handguns. The two men ordered all the employees and one passerby into the credit union's vault.
Immediately after the robbery the two men were seen jumping over a cinderblock wall and getting into the trunk of a tan Buick. One of the men threatened an onlooker with his gun during the escape.
Police later spotted the getaway car and chased it on the highway at speeds up to 100 miles-an-hour. Other law enforcement agencies joined the chase, which finally came to an end at a gas station in Modesto.
Elmar Scott, 33, Rashod Bledsaw, 31, and Dashelle Harris, 33 were all convicted of multiple counts in connection with the robbery.
