ELIZABETHTOWN, N.Y. – Ticonderoga FCU provided a $300 donation to the local food bank, as well as a drawing for a $1,200 "Economic Stimulus Package," double the amount provided by the federal government last summer, as part of the opening of its new branch here this week.
The $70 million credit union, based in the nearby town of Ticonderoga, used humor to promote the new branch, with ads paralleling the recent presidential elections, as espousing, "In the race to be your primary financial institution, TFCU is the candidate for change."
The credit union was chartered in 1954 to serve employees of the International Paper Ticonderoga mill, and now serves residents of the surrounding communities of Essex and Washington counties and the towns of Hague, Horicon and Chester in Warren County.
