DALLAS - TNB said ended 2006 with the acquisition of 21 credit card portfolios it purchased from credit unions across the U.S. Most recently, it acquired portfolios from Northeast Panhandle Teachers FCU of Perryton, Texas; Southern Lakes CU of Kenosha, Wis.; American FCU of Mission Hills, Calif.. and Saugus FCU of Saugus, Mass.

In other news, TNB reported its 2006 Fall Balance Transfer promotion brought in more than $2.2-million in card balances for participating CUs. One participant, the $580-million Forth Worth, Texas-based EECU that captured more than $222,000 in outstanding balances with an average transfer rate of $3,200.
