Tom Connors, Longtime CU Supporter, Dies

RIVERDALE, Utah – Tom Connors, a board member with America First Credit Union here and known to many for his work in the U.S. and international CU community, has died of an apparent heart attack.

Connors was 72, and had just returned home from attending the National Federation of Community Development CUs conference in Atlanta. Connors first began serving on America First’s Credit Committee in 1982. He was elected to the board in 1992, where he would later serve as chair. Known for his dedication to credit unions, Connors was active in the National CU Foundation’s Development Education program and a strong supporter of the World Council of CUs.

Connors served in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Isabelle, and their children.
