Tower FCU, the largest credit union in Maryland, owns a fleet of 29 ATMs that will be serviced under CO-OP ATM Terminal Driving, which includes complete management of the credit union’s ATM terminals and programs.

“It was going to cost us more to maintain our compliance with the various rules and regulations surrounding ATMs if we tried to continue to drive our own ATMs,” said Sean Zimmermann, senior vice president, operations and technology for the $2.5-billion credit union. “We expect that this move will allow us to focus on our core competencies rather than ATM compliance.

“In addition, the software system we were using was outdated and would have required a significant capital investment. This change helps us modernize the look and functionality of our ATM screen content. Finally, we can now consider other ATM hardware vendors, if we so choose in the future, whereas we were limited to only one vendor previously,” said Zimmermann.
