LONGMONT, Colo. – Two men involved in a robbery at the Elevations CU branch last week left a trail of green that led to their arrest.
A police officer who arrived at the branch after Tuesday afternoon’s hold-up photographed the trail and then collected a $10 bill, a couple $50s, and a wad including three $1 bills, two $5 bills and two $100s, dropped by the robber while making his getaway by bike.
The trail led two blocks away where the robber’s friend waited in a getaway truck.
Witnesses told police where the suspects headed after the robbery and described the truck they were driving. A tracking device in the bag of money signaled the truck’s location to police dispatchers.
Vincent Dufresne, 44, the alleged hold-up man, told police he met the getaway car driver, Russel Tucker, 45, in prison.
