Treasury Recognizes Cedar Point

Cedar Point FCU was recognized last week by the Treasury Department for its retirement planning financial education program. On hand for the presentation were credit union representatives, Treasury Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions Wayne Abernathy presented a certificate. "A key function of the Office of Financial Education is to identify sound, effective financial education programs around the country and highlight their efforts," said Abernathy.

Maryland-based CPFCU created a CUSO for the specific purpose of financial education. The CUSO, Cedar Point Financial Services, Inc., has partnered with other organizations to offer a variety of programs, both to groups and to individual members. The newest seminar will be on first-time home buying.
