Trico Community Federal Credit Union Changes Name

Trico Community Federal Credit Union in Helena, Mt., plans to change its name and charter.

The $24.5 million-asset credit union is converting to a Montana state credit union charter. Following the transition, it will be known as Vocal Credit Union.

Following the changes, the credit union will continue to serve members in Lewis & Clark, Jefferson and Broadwater Counties.

The credit union chose to change its name to align better with one of its governing principles of giving its members a voice, the organization said in a press release Monday.

"We want to ensure our name reflects our focus on personal service and inclusiveness," Vocal chief executive Eddie Black said in the release.

The credit union also plans to roll out new services for members including a new mobile application, a new home banking platform and CardNav technology.
