SUFFOLK, Va.—Local police have charged two men in connection to burglaries that occurred at Metropolitan Church Federal Credit Union here and Northern Star CU.
On Feb. 8, a safe was stolen from the $7.5 million MCFCU, and then on March 27, thieves attempted to break into a safe at NSCU, based in Portsmouth, Va.
Devin Rashaun Hardy, 21, has been charged with two counts of breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, two counts of grand larceny, two counts of possession of burglarious tools, two counts of destruction of property, burning a building while committing a felony, conspiracy to commit a felony and attempt to commit a non-capital offense, according to a published report.
Hardy is being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
Police have also arrested and charged 22-year-old Tyreese D'Andrae Darden in connection to the Metropolitan Church incident.
Darden was charged with breaking and entering with the attempt to commit a felony, destruction of property, possession of burglarious tools, conspiracy to commit a felony and two counts of grand larceny. He is being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
