Open Solutions Inc., a provider of integrated enabling technologies for financial institutions, has signed on VAC FCU to the firm's The Complete Credit Union Solution to manage data processing for the CU. Shreveport, La.-based VAC FCU chose Open Solutions' relational enterprise core processing product suite to take the institution into the future, OSI said, noting VAC will also be implementing OSI's loan origination, Internet banking and advanced reporting offerings.
Separately, Open Solutions Inc., a provider of integrated data processing technologies, has acquired Dryden, N.Y.-based Omega Systems Corp. of North America, LLC, a company specializing in remittance and lock box solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, Open Solutions will acquire Omega Systems for approximately $2.5 million in cash. Omega Systems will become part of Open Solutions' existing check imaging, document imaging and item processing business unit, imagic, reporting into the company's Strategic Solutions Group.
