VANCOUVER, B.C.–Canada's highest-profile credit union has tapped a career bureaucrat as its new CEO. Tamara Vrooma, deputy finance minister for British Columbia, will take over as chief executive of the (C) $12.-billion Vancouver City Savings Credit Union (VanCity) in September. The position will mark the first time that Vrooman, 39, works in the private sector. Vrooman succeeds Dave Mowatt, who recently took over as CEO of ATB Financial in Alberta.
