CINCINNATI, Ohio - (09/01/04) -- The ATM Exchange, a provider of ATMrefurbishing, parts, training and technical support, said that nineATM processing networks have now approved its 3DESPlus solution, aTriple DES security solution for virtually all Diebold and NCR ATMmodels. The networks include eFunds, Lynk, Fiserv Southwest, FiservEFT/CNS, Columbus Data Services, Metavante, NYCE, NETS, and Shazam.Testing has also been completed for Elan and Visa DPS with finalapproval pending. "It is estimated that about 90% of the nearly380,000 ATMs installed in the United States will still need to bereplaced or upgraded to comply with Triple DES certification," thecompany said, estimating it has spent more than 3,000 man hoursworking with various bankcard and EFT processing organizations ontheir individual Triple DES compliance programs.
