WATERLOO, Iowa — Ashworth Credit Union and Veridian Credit Union plan to merge.

The Iowa Division of Credit Unions and NCUA have approved the merger, which is expected to be completed on June 29. Members of the West Des Moines, Iowa-based Ashworth CU have OK'd the deal, as well.
The $6.5 million Ashworth currently serves 900 members, and the credit union in a release cited providing members with additional services as a primary reason for the consolidation.
"We're grateful for the opportunity to serve Ashworth members and welcome them into Veridian's membership," said Monte Berg, SVP of finance at the $2.5 billion Veridian. "The two credit unions are working diligently together to ensure a seamless transition."
