The $2.5-billion credit union plans to test the NCR APTRA Interactive Tellers at in a variety of sites, including existing and new branch lobbies, branch drive-throughs, and off-site locations.

"We believe that NCR's technology will help us increase our members' convenience and access to teller services," said COO Darrick Weeks. "What we liked about NCR's solution was that it was a direct interaction with a live teller who has complete control of the ATM, rather than just verbal assistance from a remote employee."

Wright-Patt will install 12 walk-up units in branch lobbies and off-site locations, and seven additional units in branch drive-throughs.

Beyond talking to a teller, Interactive Teller offers more services than can be conducted on an ATM or other self-service devices, according to NCR. For instance, consumers can perform secure transactions without using a traditional ATM card and can access cash in their accounts in amounts over the standard ATM daily cash withdrawal limits.

Approximately 95% of all teller transactions can be performed via Interactive Teller, NCR said.
