Virginia Beach School CU Robber Sentenced To 38 Years In Prison

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A man who held up Virginia Beach School CU armed with a semi-automatic weapon in the summer of 2006 and made off with $13,000 was sentenced yesterday to 38 years in federal prison.

Dwight Simpkins, 46, entered the building, approached two tellers, displayed his weapon, and demanded money.

A jury found Simpkins guilty of two counts of armed robbery, one count of burglary of bank while armed, and two counts use of a firearm in the commission of a felony during his trial last June.
