SAN FRANCISCO – Visa said last week it has configured its VisaNet transaction network to allow users of prepaid cards to add value to the cards at envelope-free ATMs.

The envelope-free ATMs give the cardholder instant verification that the value has been loaded, eliminating the need for them to wait in line at a store.
The credit card giant is talking with several large deployers of ATMs to offer the reload services at their ATMs.
The service will be offered through Visa’s ReadyLink prepaid card reload network. ReadyLink has 7,000 merchant locations and links to several prepaid card networks.
