VyStar Credit Union in Jacksonville, Fla., has surpassed 500,000 members.

The $5.6 billion-asset credit union said it will offer a special 15-month certificate of deposit to members for a limited time, to commemorate passing the 500,000-member milestone.
"We have our members to thank, past and present, for VyStar's success along with the solid foundation established by our original members," Terry West, chief executive, said in a news release. "We feel this is a reason to celebrate."
VyStar was established in 1952 as Jax Navy Federal Credit Union.
