Walk-Thru Robbery Was A Hoax

MIDLAND, Texas - (06/15/06) – The FBI said a report of anarmed robbery by a man walking through the drive-thru lane atComplex Community FCU was actually a phony incident apparentlystaged by one of the credit union’s employees. The employeereported to police that a man approached the drive-thru lane onfoot and used the teller tubes to send a note that demanded moneyand claimed the assailant had a bomb, so he gave the suspect cash.All the money has been recovered and one individual has beencharged in the hoax, authorities said.
