Wescom Central CU Announced 12 Branch Closings

PASADENA, Calif. – Wescom Central CU announced Monday it is closing 12 branches early next year as it continues to dig out from large losses.

The $3 billion credit union said it is closing all branches in San Diego and Santa Barbara counties as well as in Monrovia, Temecula, Fontana, Anaheim Hills, Santa Monica and San Pedro.

The move comes a little more than a year after Wescom shuttered 11 branches.

The branches will close Jan. 29, leaving Wescom with 29 branches, down from 56 two years ago.

The one-time $3.9 billion credit union reported a $66.5 million loss for the first three quarters of 2009, after a $63.1 million loss for 2008.
