Wescom CU Absorbs Unocal FCU

The $2.6-billion Wescom Credit Union here has absorbed via merger the $115-million Unocal Federal Credit Union.

However, the 9,400-member Unocal FCU will be able to retain its name as it will continue to operate under the Unocal name as a division of Wescom CU.

El Segundo, Calif.-based Unocal Federal Credit Union will also be able to hold on its branches in its home market of Rodeo, and Orcutt, Calif., and Sugar Land, Texas, where the credit union's facilities will remain open to continue serving Unocal members.

Unocal's Brea, Calif. branch members will be served by Wescom's nearby La Habra branch, according to Unocal FCU CEO Judy Hurst.
