SAN DIMAS, Calif. – WesCorp FCU will shed its storied past, including the failure of the one-time $34 billion corporate credit union, with a new name going forward, United Resources FCU.
United Resources FCU was selected from more than seventy names collected by the Charter Committee for consideration. “We wanted a name that reflected the unique advantage of the credit union model when members join together to share resources,” said Matt Davidson, chairman of the board of the future corporate. “It’s a simple reminder of why we want this new corporate.”
The one-time corporate giant, which served more than 1,000 credit union members as Western Corporate FCU, continues to provide services to about 900 credit unions.
The choice of a new corporate moniker comes a week after representatives of Members United Corporate FCU–another of the five failed corporates–chose Alloya Corporate FCU as their new name to re-charter under.
