WESTERLY, R.I. - (08/15/05) -- Westerly Community CU announced ithas donated $25,000 towards the $2.2 million Stand Up for Animalscapital fund financing a new animal shelter here. The fundraisingdrive was also aided by a $200,000 federal grant from the U.S.Department of Housing and Urban Development. The shelter willoperate on a no-kill policy and will provide 150 cat and 45 dogkennels, as well as offer space for rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs,birds, birds and snakes.
