Westerra CU’s Ex-Home to Become City Hall

CENTENNIAL, Colo. – The administration for this seven-year-old city of 100,000 people that was built around the new Denver International Airport has found a new home in the old home of Westerra CU.

City officials have agreed to buy the credit union’s old headquarters and its adjourning five acres, as well as another 11 acres, to develop the fledgling municipality’s first city hall. Since its inception in February 2001, Centennial has been renting office space nearby, but the lease expires at the end of the year.

The credit union no longer needs the offices because of a recent conglomeration with both Denver Public Schools CU and Safeway Rocky Mountain FCU, which has headquartered the $925 million credit union in downtown Denver.
