What The New Radio Spots Say

Spot #1: Voices

Note: This spot begins with one voice. After a few words another voice takes over, and then another and another and so on. Male, female, older, younger.

VOICE #1: Not many people truly understand the real benefit of credit unions. You see, credit unions (VOICE #2) are not for profit. Which means that when a credit union member makes a deposit, (VOICE #3) that money-in the form of loans-is recycled directly back into the hands of other credit union members. (VOICE #4) And because those loans are offered at such attractive interest rates, (VOICE #5) credit unions make it easier for members to borrow. (VOICE #6) It also means that credit unions can afford to offer car loans, mortgages and small business loans to many people (VOICE #7) who might otherwise have been overlooked. And by providing healthy competition in the marketplace, (VOICE #8) credit unions encourage other financial institutions to work harder in order to keep their own customers satisfied. (VOICE #9) Whether they're serving their members, or strengthening the local economy, credit unions are about (VOICE #10) people helping each other. Which means that when members invest in their credit union, they're actually investing (VOICE #11) in their community. Which means they're actually investing...

(ALL VOICES BLURRED AND OVERLAPPED TOGETHER) in me. (VOICE #12) Credit unions. They're how communities...(ALL VOICES TOGETHER)...share the wealth.

Spot #2: Doors

SFX: DOORS SLAM SHUT

ANNCR: Interesting thing about choices. We don't always appreciate them until they're taken away.

SFX: DOOR SLAMS SHUT

ANCR: Sometimes, we don't even recognize when there's a risk of that happening.

SFX: SEVERAL DOORS SLAM SHUT, BUILDING TEMPO UNDER THE ANNCR

ANCR: Take one of the choices you'll find in most every community today. Local credit unions. They're not for profit. So they put their earnings right back to work for consumers. And that means they can afford to offer better rates on both loans and deposits.

SFX: DISTINCT AND DRAWN-OUT CREAK OF DOOR HINGE

ANCR: In addition, they can afford to offer home, car and small-business loans to many people who might otherwise be overlooked. Credit unions even provide healthy competition that encourages other financial institutions to try harder for their own customers.

SFX: DOOR HINGE CONTINUES

ANNCR: So imagine the consequences. (SFX: DOOR SLAMS SHUT) we would have to deal with if not-for-profit credit unions weren't here.

SFX: A NUMBER OF DOORS SLAM SHUT

ANNCR: And the freedom of choice they have always offered was suddenly...(SFX: CREAK...AND ONE LAST DOOR SLAMS SHUT)...gone.

ANCR: Credit unions. Because choice is power.

Spot #3: Save Nothing!

ANCR: For one weekend, you'll save absolutely nothing on our entire inventory! Take zero off all floor models! Save nothing on all close-outs!

VO: When there's no competition, there are no rewards.

ANCR: Every item under our roof will be nothing off! Plus, our entire warehouse will be discounted an additional zero-percent! Shop early and receive an additional non-existent cash rebate!

VO: And without credit unions, financial institutions wouldn't be vying for your business.

ANNCR: Absolutely no free parking, no balloons for the kids, plus we're staying open late, so you can save nothing, longer! And if you find any item priced for less at a competitor, we'll pay you zero times the difference! In cash!

VO: That's why credit unions are so important. You see, credit unions are not for profit. They recycle their earnings back to consumers in the form of better rates: on both loans and deposits. This healthy competition encourages other financial institutions to try harder to keep their own customers satisfied. So even those who don't belong to credit unions benefit.

VO: Because when banks and credit unions compete, everyone wins.
