Windsor Locks FCU adds two women to C-Suite

Charla Stetson has taken the helm as the new CEO of Windsor Locks Federal Credit Union in Connecticut.

Stetson was named CEO last month, following the retirement of WLFCU’s former president and CEO, John Franco. Stetson’s previous title was vice president of operations and member services.

“It is an honor to become chief executive officer,” Stetson said in a press release. "I am fortunate to have had experienced mentors here at WLFCU and will lead with the knowledge and values they have instilled in me. I am passionate about contributing to the credit union movement. I love my hometown of Windsor Locks and feel fortunate to work closely with the community in my role at WLFCU."

Stetson has been with the credit union since 2011. Prior to that she was a restraint manager and banker.

The newly minted CEO indicated growth will be a top priority, and Stetson said she hopes to expand the $59 million-asset credit union’s field of membership and work to enhance financial education offerings.

The first-time CEO is a graduate of Asnuntuck Community College and is continuing her scholarly pursuits at the New England College of Business and Finance. She is also a graduate of the Credit Union League of Connecticut's executive education program.

Stetson isn’t the only woman to move up the ranks at Windsor Locks. Patricia Javorski has also been named chief operating officer.

“The credit union philosophy of 'People Helping People' is what attracted me to work for WLFCU and its members,” Javorski said. “I look forward to working with our member board of directors and the staff to make WLFCU the best place to work while keeping our members needs at the forefront.”
