LENEXA, Kan. – A 71-year-old man was rushed to the hospital Saturday morning after he was shot several times by a man fleeing a robbery at the Credit Union of Johnson County.

The victim, who apparently witnessed part of the robbery, followed the suspect’s getaway car and pulled beside it two blocks north of the credit union, police said. When he attempted to speak to the robber, the suspect shot him. Neighbors heard eight to 10 shots being fired.
The credit union hold-up was one of three bank robberies Saturday at local institutions, none of which appear to be related.
