FITCHBURG, Mass. – Workers’ CU said it contributed $10,000 to United Way’s Community Support Fund, which is providing emergency food and heating assistance to local families.

United Way created the Community Support Fund in October to provide immediate emergency relief to individuals and families in the North Central Massachusetts region.
As contributions are received, United Way is directing 100% of the dollars to existing health and human service providers in its 19-town service territory. So far, over $89,000 in distributions have been made for food and heating assistance.
