Southwest Corp. Schedules Check 21 Clinics

DALLAS-Southwest Corporate FCU will conduct a series of low-cost Check 21 Clinics in 13 cities this summer.

"The Check 21 Clinics are specifically designed to be a hands-on session during which credit unions will be encouraged to develop their specific Check 21 implementation plans," SCFCU said. "Key decision-makers and operation managers are encouraged to attend the morning-long clinics.The clinics are tentatively scheduled for the following dates: July 7-San Antonio; July 20-Little Rock; July 21-Shreveport; July 27-Baton Rouge; July 28-New Orleans; Aug. 3-Albuquerque; Aug. 4-El Paso; Aug. 10-Austin; Aug. 11-Lubbock; Aug. 17-DFW; Aug. 18-Oklahoma City; Aug. 24-Houston; Aug. 31-Jacksonville. There is a $50 registration fee per attendee.

DC Super Heroes Added To Liberty Line-up

MOUNDS VIEW, Minn.-Credit union members now have the opportunity to turn to Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman to help with their payments. DC Super Heroes have been added to what is the newest and largest catalog in Liberty's 18-year history. Liberty now offers more than 70 check designs. Among the others now available are Yogi Bear and Pink Panther, and a new series dedicated to classic stadiums, golf courses, and auto racing.

Liberty has also designated several styles for support of causes like breast cancer awareness, veterans' organizations, African American programs and the National Parks Conservation Association.

Clarke American Honored With Companero Award

SAN ANTONIO-Quality New Mexico has honored Clarke American with the organization's 2003 Compa?ero Recognition. The award was one of three Compa?eros presented by the private, not-for-profit organization that promotes quality improvement among New Mexico businesses, associations and other groups.

The recognition, which pays tribute to organizations that mentor and partner with other organizations in the journey toward service excellence, came as a result of Clarke American's nomination for the honor by one of its financial institution partners, Sandia Laboratory FCU, Albuquerque.In its nomination, the credit union, itself the recipient of a Quality New Mexico Pi?on Recognition quality award, cited Clarke American for a five-year relationship marked by performance excellence, knowledge sharing, a positive approach to business, enthusiasm and listening.

TWS Systems To Join Endpoint Exchange

CLEARWATER, Fla.-TWS Systems, Inc., a provider of ATM management and transaction processing solutions for financial institutions, has signed an agreement with CheckClear LLC joining its national check image exchange network, Endpoint Exchange. The agreement creates an end-to-end check truncation solution and positions financial institutions to clear and settle check payments through the exchange of check images, including those captured at the ATM.

"This relationship will put TWS and our clients at the forefront of Check 21 and image exchange," said Milton King, president of TWS. "Not only will our clients be better prepared for the October full-scale Check 21implementation, but in some cases they will be able to take advantage of image exchange immediately.
