Insight CU Expands Membership Field
ORLANDO, Fla.--Insight Credit Union has been approved by state regulators to expand its FOM to include six Florida counties: Levy, Dixie, Taylor, Gilchrist, Columbia and Suwannee.
Scholarships named After CEO
NEWPORT NEWS, Va.-Langley FCU surprised long-time President/CEO Jean M. Yokum by renaming the LFCU Galaxy Graduate Scholarship as the Jean M. Yokum Scholarship Program. Yokum had a 59-year-career with LFCU, and as CEO oversaw growth from $75 million in assets to $1.6 billion. The program awards four $5,000 scholarships to local high school students each year.

INDIANAPOLIS-Eli Lilly FCU has been named as one of the Best Places to Work in Indiana in the category of companies with 15 to 249 employees. It is the third consecutive year the CU has been so honored.
11 Are Certified As CDFIs
NEW YORK-Eleven more credit unions have been certified as community development financial institutions (CDFIs) by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The new CDFIs are: 1st Valley CU, San Bernadino, Calif.; Cross Valley FCU, Wilkes-Barre, Penn.; ERDA FCU, New York; Financial Health (Clarian) FCU, Indianapolis; Forward Financial CU, Niagara, Wis.; Manatee Community FCU, Brandenton, Fla.; Mid-Cities Financial CU, Compton, Calif.; Military and Civilian FCU, Fort Wainwright, Ark.; Nueva Esperanza Community CU, Toledo, Ohio; UBC Southern Council Industrial Workers FCU, Minden, La.; and Xavier University Employees FCU, New Orleans.
Ill. Foundation Awards $42K
NAPERVILLE, Ill.-The Illinois CU Foundation awarded $42,880 in Small Credit Union Development (SCUD), Community Service, Marketing and Business Development, and Financial Independence & Revitalization Effort (FIRE) grants.
Golden 1 Wins Workplace Award
SACRAMENTO, Calif.-The Golden 1 Credit Union has been named the winner of the Large, Not-for-Profit category in the Sacramento Workplace Excellence Leader (SWEL) awards. It is the third time The Golden 1 has been recognized with the award. More than 100 companies were nominated, but only nine received an award. Golden 1 was chosen for its numerous training resources, holding events and campaigns to improve employee health, and providing opportunities for employees to help communities through volunteering.
Conn. CUs Assist In Carribbean
MERIDEN, Conn.-Representatives of Connecticut CUs worked with credit unions in Trinidad and Tobago in that country as part of the Connecticut league's International Partnership, where they assisted youth in learning how to handle finances as part of a Financial Reality Fair. Participating were Joanne Todd of Northeast Family FCU; John Keet of Personal Care America FCU; Carol Bayreuther of Hartford Healthcare FCU, and Barb Bass of the league. Also on hand were Keith Wiemert of Seasons FCU and Kathy Chartier of Members CU.
Two Elected To Missouri CUA Board
ST. LOUIS-Two people have been elected to the Missouri CU Association board: Glenna Osborn, president at Missouri Central CU in Lee's Summit, and Randy Yeck, EVP at Vantage CU in Bridgeton. The board is chaired by Dennis Pierce, CEO of CommunityAmerica CU, with first vice chair Brian Eyestone of Southpointe CU and second vice chair Judy Hadsall of Community CU.
11 Iowans Join Women's Network
DES MOINES, Iowa-Eleven executives from the Iowa league and its affiliated organizations have joined the Global Women's Leadership Network (GWLN).GLWN is international education and advocacy group created in 2009 by the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) to provide women with the opportunity and resources to make a measurable difference in the lives of each other, in the lives of credit union members and in their communities.

BizKid$ Show Goes Worldwide
MADISON, Wis.-The credit union-backed TV show aimed at promoting financial literacy among youth, Biz Kid$, has now gone worldwide as it joins programming on the American Forces Network (AFN) on military bases overseas. Biz Kid$ is donating the first 26 Episodes (101-126) to AFN. The five-year-old program is overseen by the National Credit Union Foundation.
26 CUs Move To SunCorp
WESTMINSTER, Colo.-System United Corporate FCU (SunCorp) reported it has added 26 new member CUs, including 19 from California. "Our member-focused business development and implementation staff has done a great job receiving and serving our newest members," said CEO Thomas R. Graham.
