Hartig Exits NASCUS For DC Job
ARLINGTON, Va.-Kate Hartig, VP-public relations and legislative affairs with NASCUS, is leaving the organization after eight years. Hartig is joining the District of Columbia Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking as its public information officer.
Pereira Honored With Hero Award
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-Pioneer Valley FCU CEO Anabela Pereira has been honored with the Banker & Tradesman's Credit Union Hero Award at a ceremony in Boston. Since joining the credit union as a teller in 1985 and then being named CEO in 1998, Pioneer Valley has grown to $41 million in assets from $2 million.

Foulke Named To WOCCU Board
PHILADELPHIA-Bruce Foulke, president/CEO of American Heritage FCU, has been named to the board of the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU). Among other efforts, Foulke has been active in supporting credit union development in Kenya.
18 Join Filene's i3 Group

Manning To Speak At Meeting
MADISON, Wis.-Former NFL quarterback Archie Manning will offer the opening keynote address at CUES' CEO/Executive Team Network Nov. 4-7 at The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach, in Manalapan, Fla. Attendees will also be able to have "Coffee with a Quarterback" during another session at the meeting.

Roach Named CEO At SafeAmerica
PLEASANTON, Calif.-SafeAmerica CU announced the hiring of Barry Roach, a senior executive at nearby Meriwest CU, as president and CEO of the $300-million credit union. Roach is currently VP-retail delivery at the $1.1-billion Meriwest CU and before that was national senior consultant for CIBC, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.
