Affinity FCU Rolls Out Local Rewards Visa

BASKING RIDGE, N.J.-Affinity FCU here has rolled out the Hillsborough Rewards Visa card for residents of Hillsborough Township.

The card rewards points to cardholders and gives back a portion of the transaction fee to select local youth, senior and non-profit groups. The $1.8-billion CU cited its roots in the community in offering the affinity card, and its desire to "make our community prosper and to be a good corporate citizen," said CEO John T. Fenton.

NAFCU Awards Submissions Due This Month

ARLINGTON, Va.-The deadline for submitting entries for NAFCU's 2009 Annual Awards Competition is March 23. Categories include Federal Credit Union of the Year, CEO of the Year, Professional of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. In addition, entries are being accepted for the Annual Marketing Awards competition.

NAFCU members can enter up to two of the seven categories, which include: Best Membership Promotion, Best Lending Promotion, Best Product or Service Promotion, Best Member Newsletter, Best Annual Report, Best Promotional Campaign and Best Website.

Former Mexico President Fox Added To Agenda

MADISON, Wis.-Mexico's former president, Vicente Fox, has been added as a speaker to the World Council's 2009 World Credit Union Conference July 26-29 in Barcelona, Spain. He is expected to address global economic challenges and the role credit unions can play in meeting them, WOCCU said.
